ABOUT CHRISTY:
Christy English has been working in the entertainment industry for over 25 years. She is the owner of Bay Area Acting Studio and is also a Talent Manager is Los Angeles.
Christy started out in 1990 as one of 50 students (out of more than 3500 applicants from all over the country) chosen to study with Sanford Meisner for a month-long intensive on the island of Bequia in the West Indies. When the classes ended, Christy learned that out of the fifty students in the summer program, she was one of only 22 chosen to continue to study in Sandy’s two- year private class.
Christy went on to act, direct, produce and write films. She has extensive knowledge of how all sides of the camera work as well as the business. Christy started teaching actors in Los Angeles in 1998. She moved to the Bay Area in 2001 to work for a production company writing and directing films. Her passion for teaching led her to leave her day job and return to teaching on nights and weekends. Even this was not enough, so she decided to open her own acting studio in 2003. She hoped that through this new endeavor she could inspire others to share her love for the art.
In 2009 Christy became a talent manager in Los Angeles. She partnered with her long time friend Kyle Fritz, who she shares an office with in LA, and opened Christy English Management. Christy English Management has been very successful in getting her actor’s work. Whether it be co-starring, guest starring, or prominent recurring roles, Christy knows what it takes to work in TV and Film in the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
